The Golden Bear Village South apartments are located on the south edge of campus. The Village contains 206 units which are coed by apartment and can hold anywhere from two to six people. The apartments are open to all students except for first semester freshmen.
There are eight different buildings in Golden Bear Village South, which contain two types of apartments: the Garden Apartments and the Mid-Rise Apartments. There are 88 total Garden Apartments located in buildings 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70. Each apartment has an entrance directly from the outside into the apartment. Each air-conditioned apartment consists of furnished bedrooms, living room, dining room, two bathrooms and full service kitchens with refrigerators, stoves and ovens.
The Mid-Rise apartments are located in building 10, which contains 51 units, and building 80, which contains 67 units. Each is comprised of two buildings connected by a breezeway. These apartment buildings are similar to a more traditional apartment building with indoor hallways and a lobby on each floor. There is also a laundry room and conference rooms on the first floor. Each of the mid-rise apartment buildings contain units designed for hearing and visually impaired students, as well as seven units that are handicapped accessible. Most apartments have two bathrooms (there are only two apartments in the entire complex with only one bathroom). There is a living room and kitchen in every apartment. They are full service kitchens with refrigerators and stoves/ovens provided. There are smoke detectors and sprinklers in every bedroom and throughout the apartment.
No matter what type of apartment you prefer you will find a great place for campus life in the Golden Bear South apartments.
